The village is located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. The production is of 90 % white wines.

about 2.5 acres of Chardonnay planted at the borderline of Meursault and Puligny- Montrachet, produce an exellent white wine with a typical greenish golden colour; it is a long-ageing wine with a bouquet reminiscent of very ripe grapes and hazelnut.

2 . 5 acres of vineyard planted with PINOT NOIR borders Monthelie as a rare red Meursault. A delicate light coloured red similar in finesse and suppleness to the Volnay style. Exellently served with entrées.

This wine has a named location " Les Vireuils" found on the slope of MEURSAULT. The name comes from a steep track leading to the vineyard. A nice wine, elegant with aromas of white flowers and exotic fruits.
Very pleasant with fine fish.
